Answer

a) Charleston. This Sussex farmhouse was acquired by Vanessa Bell in 1916. Here she and Duncan Grant had their studios and together set about decorating the entire house.

Garsington was the home of Lady Ottoline Morrell; Grantchester was where Rupert Brooke lived in the Old Vicarage, and Rodmell (only five miles from Charleston) was the home of Virginia Woolf.
