Day tour by coach: This exciting trip will introduce you to Salisbury’s 13th century Gothic cathedral – one of the country’s most important buildings. From it’s amazing tall spire, largest cloister and cathedral close – it is home to the world’s oldest working mechanical clock and has a magnificent collection of medieval stained glass windows. However, the undoubted star attraction is the presence of perhaps the single most important document in English history – the Magna Carta. Only four copies have survived since 1215 and Salisbury has the best preserved.
Our visit begins with coffee and pastries in the Cathedral Refectory, followed by a tour led by the Cathedral guides and an opportunity to see the famous clock chime.
The afternoon is free for lunch and to explore the town and its market. You may like to visit one of the city’s museums all located nearby.
